Boston Photographer: Professional Headshots & Model Portfolios
Welcome to Kevin Day Photography. For over 18 years, I have helped professionals, actors, and models in New England put their best face forward. Located in the historic South End, my studio offers a relaxed environment where we create images that truly represent you. From headshots for business or headshots for acting or modeling. To model portfolios, model portraits and lifestyle modeling to branding and family sessions, you have come to the right place.
More Than Just a Camera: 18 Years of Experience

My love for photography started around the age of 7 with my dad’s old camera. I would take random photos until one day I decided to position my stuffed animals around the house and photograph them. Back then, in the days of film, my mom wasn't exactly thrilled paying for double prints of my toys! But in retrospect, that curiosity sparked a lifelong journey.
But in retrospect that was my start to what would eventually become my career.
I have been working in the industry for over 18 years, gaining knowledge that is only learned from time, dedication and experience. After graduating from New England School of photography, with a major in fashion photography. I started the business in March of 2007. In the beginning I took all types of jobs to find my place in the industry. It wasn’t long till I found where my specialties lay in photography. And just like all those years ago photographing my stuffed animals as if they were people. Working and photographing people has been my passion in the industry, always trying to get the best out of each subject.
Today I specialize in headshots for all types of industries, from acting headshots, theater headshots, corporate/business headshots, I also specialize in model portfolios, model portraits, model photography as well as commercial and branding photography.
Come to my studio for your session or if you have multiple people to be photographed, we can come to your office or desired location. If you would like your model portfolio or branding session on location please send an email. We have special rates for on location sessions.
I like to create a comfortable and relaxing environment in my Boston studio, which is located at 460 Harrison Ave in the historical South End. Home of SOWA Sundays and lots of other local artists. Some days my dog Millie (AKA the company mascot) may make a cameo.
Whether you are a business looking for headshots or marketing materials to grow and make your business more professional. A model looking for the best model portfolio or an actor looking for the perfect headshot, you have come to the right place. I pride myself in my work and always give everything my best energy and efforts. I have been called one of Boston’s Top Photographers and I am humbled to be in this grouping.
Professional Headshot Photographer in Boston
In a digital world, your headshot is your first impression I specialize in capturing authentic, high-quality headshots that help you stand out.
Business & Corporate Headshots
Professional Photography can elevate your professional brand for LinkedIn, social media and company websites. It also builds trust and credibility for your brand while showing attention to detail. While helping your business stand out from your competitors. I provide corporate headshot photography that balances professionalism with approachability. We can shoot in my studio, outside or I can bring the lighting to your office for your entire team.
Acting Headshots
This is the most important business investment for any actor. With an amazing headshot you will go further than an actor with a so/so headshot or self taken headshot. Casting directors need to see the real you. As an experienced acting headshot photographer, I focus on capturing range, expression, and character. We’ll ensure your headshot pops on casting sites and leaves a lasting impression.
Model Portfolios & DEVELOPMENT
Ranking as a leading model portfolio photographer in Boston, I work with both new faces and seasoned talent. Getting signed requires more than just a pretty picture; it requires a portfolio that shows versatility. From fashion photography to commercial looks and digitals, I understand exactly what top modeling agencies in Boston and New York are looking for.
We help you define your look across all the major categories needed for a complete book. This includes Commercial Modeling, where we create approachable, relatable looks for advertisements and catalogs, as well as Fashion and Editorial styles that focus on high-fashion aesthetics for designers and magazines. We also capture Fitness and Lifestyle portfolios to showcase athleticism and movement for health brands.
"Digitals" (or Polaroids)—simple, un-retouched photos that show agencies your natural beauty and bone structure, which are a must-have for getting signed. You can add this to any modeling portfolio package.
Don't Worry About Experience: Model Coaching Included Walking into a studio can be intimidating, especially if you are just starting. Included in my sessions is full model coaching. I don't just stand behind the camera; I will help direct you when you get stuck. I will teach you how to move, pose, and connect with the lens so your final images look confident and professional—even if it is your very first photoshoot. But it is also a good idea to do some homework before your session. Watch some YouTube videos and take a look online to find some poses you could copy.

Common Questions
What should I wear for my headshot?
For business headshots, solid colors work best. Depending on the type of work a blazer can also be a good option or a nice sweater, blouse or polo. Avoid distracting patterns. For acting headshots, sold colors also work best. Jewel tones that enhance you and not distract from your face. Remember you are the focus of your headshot and not the clothes you are wearing.
Do you do location shoots?
Yes. While I have a fully equipped studio located in the South End of Boston, I am available for on-location shoots for corporate teams or environmental lifestyle photography throughout New England. Travel included (up to 30 miles) in the Quarter, Half and Full Day options. Parking fees are not included if applicable.
